The Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation requires all contractor candidates to complete an approved 8 hour class.  Proof that the Contractors Pre-licensing course has been completed must be documented and submitted to the Department with the application.  The course must be completed by a Designated Employee, Qualifying Agent or a member of Responsible Management of the company.

The Virginia Contractors Course must cover topics that are business related rather than trade related.  Subject areas should include accounting, project management and licensing laws to name only a few.
