Virginia Pre Licensing
The Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation requires all contractor candidates to complete an approved 8 hour class. Proof that the Contractors Pre-licensing course has been completed must be documented and submitted to the Department with the application.
The course must be completed by a Designated Employee, Qualifying Agent or a member of Responsible Management of the company.

- To apply for your Contractors license in the state of Virginia, you are required to complete an 8 hours pre licensing course.
- Effective August 21, 2006, the state of Virginia requires all contractors applying for initial licensure to successfully complete an 8 hours business class approved by the Board.
- Each business must pick a designated employee or a member of Responsible Management to attend the 8 hours business class.
- Once you have completed the course you will be given a certificate of completion, this certificate must be submitted to the Board with application for licensure.
- The certificate of completion shall list the course name, course provider, date of completion, and the individual who attended and completed the class.
