American Contractor Exam Services is offering a variety of online Virginia Real Estate salesperson continuing education. All of our Online Virginia salesperson continuing education courses are awaiting approval by the Virginia Real Estate Board. These courses have implemented the adopted changes to the Real Property Salesperson Qualification Criteria that became effective in Virginia July 1, 2005. The courses are written by inspectors, instructors, and leading salespeople with years of knowledge and experience. We are currently developing Virginia real estate salesperson continuing education courses. These course will cover such topics as ethics in real estate, fair housing, HUD appraisal requirements, and changes to the USPAP. Here is a list of the Virginia Real Estate Salesperson continuing education currently under development.
- Ethics in Real Estate - This online course covers duties to clients and customers, duties to the public, duties to REALTORS, and case studies.
- Fair Housing - The topics included in this course reviews interference, coercion, intimidation, subpoenas, discrimination in residential real estate-related transactions, discrimination in the sale or rental of housing, and other prohibited practices
- HUD Appraisal Requirements - Virginia continuing education that includes lessons on specifications and site, builder's certification of plans, and HUD forms.
- Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice(USPAP) Review - Reviews current changes in the USPAP. This covers topics such as definitions, ethics rules, competency rules, jurisdictional exception, and scope of work.

These are the current requirements for renewing your Virginia Real Estate Salesperson license. We will always provide the newest information available and will update the requirements as soon as there are changes.
- To renew your Real Estate Salespersons License in the state of Virginia, you are required to complete 8 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
- Four hours of continuing education shall be in subjects covering fair housing law, state real estate laws and regulations, and ethics and standards of conduct.
- The remaining four hours of continuing education shall be in topics approved by the Board. Property rights, leases, liens, and investments are some subjects approved by the Board.
- Licensees shall retain a record of course completion for a minimum of three years. Licensees will provide the Board with verification of completion of courses at their request.
